The Special Edition was released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC five years later in 2016. It's been almost seven years since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, was released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on November 11, 2011. It was revealed during this 2018 Bethesda conference that Starfield is one of them, and Fallout 76 is the other. First calling them "different than anything we've done before," Howard later told IGN those two projects were "bigger than anything we've done" before. Since at least E3 2016, Todd Howard has been discussing two major projects Bethesda is developing that he expected we'd see before The Elder Scrolls VI. Since Starfield will be a "next-gen" game, it would seem to be safe speculation that this means Elder Scrolls IV will be as well. "It's the one you keep asking about," he said to immediate audience cheers during the conference. Watch the reveal trailer below: Howard described The Elder Scrolls 6 as "the game after" their upcoming next-gen game, Starfield, which suggests it won't come out until at least 2020 (assuming Starfield arrives in 2019). Bethesda clearly knew they were dropping the mic with the reveal, as this was the final reveal of the show. Nowadays it seems to be an Elder Scrolls series no one knows about, and there's a good reason. The first two, Stormhold and Dawnstar, were exclusive to the J2ME and BREW devices, while the last, Shadowkey, was developed for the Nokia N-Gage. An extremely brief teaser was shown during the Sunday night press conference, showing only the logo. The Elder Scrolls Travels series was a trilogy that brought the continent of Tamriel to handheld devices.
